Each student received a copy of the 6-point rubric from the English 12 provincial exam and an example of a 6 essay.
- Students read the scale. As a class look at 4,5,6 descriptions.
- Each student receives an individual copy of the “6” exemplar.
- In groups of 2-3, students discuss each of the “4” exemplars. Students take individual notes of the “4” essays’ strengths and weaknesses. (Why is it not a 2 or a 6?)
- Small groups report why the essays received a 4 instead of higher or lower to the class.
